We are currently reaching out to potential sponsors to support of our major initiative for 2016—The Race Across America (RAAM). Our four-person team of Charles Fields, Chip Harris, Karen Buxton and Becky Sage will cycle 3,020 miles from Oceanside, California to Annapolis, Maryland, starting on June 18 with a goal of breaking the co-ed team record. The sponsorship dollars will be used to off-set the cost of undertaking this epic journey—promotion, fees, transportation, food, equipment, and the like for four riders and a crew of 8-12 support people. The riders and crew will be challenged to raise a minimum of $1,000 each, which will be donated to HPCG or to the rider/crew member’s local non-profit Hospice if they do not reside in Greensboro. (For more information about RAAM, go to www.raceacrossamerica.org .)
For this particular fund-raising project, we are excited to expand our scope to a national stage (with 55 time stations across 12 states) in order to promote a wider, healthier conversation about death and dying and spread the message that hospice provides support, guidance and care not only for the terminally ill but also to families, friends and caregivers. We plan to connect with non-profit hospices located in each state in hopes that our RAAM Team can be a vehicle for awareness and fundraising in their local community, as well.
Thank you in advance for your consideration of support for Team Tri for Hospice. Your sponsorship will allow us to raise both awareness and funding not only for Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro but for other non-profit hospices across the country. Together, we will directly help individuals and their families receive the same wonderful care my brother received, regardless of ability to pay -- and to “start the conversation” about healthier ways to deal with end of life issues.
It is our hope that you and your business will keep us in mind as you plan for your 2016 donations.
Thank you and together, we are caring to the finish,
Karen Buxton, Charles Fields, Chip Harris and Becky Sage
